Hi all

My old lap top crashed yesterday. I was using access 2007. I now have a rubbish windows 8 machine and access 2013. They appear to have changed the query in the latest version. I have loads of them, macro controlled and I desperately need to get reports out. Is there a quick fix without having to rewrite it all. :banghead:

I can't see why you are having problems, A2007 should work on A2013. Please provide more info.

Hi Uncle Gizmo - You are obviously quite correct the query functions are identical. Before the old laptop died I was able to copy the database file across to the new machine. However most of the queries fail to work. For instance, I have a simple query to convert upper case to first capital and remaining lower case. If I open the update query in design view, I see:
Field: Field7
Table: Data
Update to: StrConv([Field7],3)
On running the following is returned:
Undefined function "StrConv" in expression

It sounds like you need to look at your references.

Thanks - could you expand slightly on what you mean as references. I take it you don't mean relationships!

Thanks - It looks like I have a broken reference to the file SGOedit.ocx version 1. Lets see if we can repair it!!

Well, that doesn't sound like the usual culprit, so please let us know how you get on.

I have added the sgoedit.ocx file but there appear to be others. How do I list these?

In the link I posted it shows you how to select and find the references in a popup MS Access form designed for the purpose. Is that what you are using or are you doing something else?

All sorted now. Interestingly the missing files were associated with Sage Software and not Access. However Access now works OK!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for all your help

You were doing something else weren't you, you naughty naughty boy., slappy on the wristy for you!
