query custon dialog box criteria

Right, basicly all i want is a search form that only shows the records of the date chosen from a combo box, it sounds simple but little retarded me cant seem to work out away of doing it, the only thing i can think of is a form based on a query that uses a custon dialog box as its criteria but i dont know how to do that either?

Set the criteria of your query to Forms!YourFormName!Yourcomboboxname! If you're still not sure I can send you something similar to give you a better idea.
