I am creating a form to search a table for records. I have in my query

Like [Forms]![Form1].[raNumber]

When i run this query if I do not type exactly what I'm searching for it won't bring up any records.

I want to do something similar to this Like " Search Text * " so I do not have type exactly what I'm searching for.

I may get corrected on this by one of the experts, (as i am relativly new to the access world) but my understanding is that numbers can only be queried using mathematical comparisons. ie. = < > or a conbination of those. Does the field NEED to be a number? if it were considered a text field, a number could still be entered into the field and then you could do a standard like query with the wildcard.

You would need to do this if you want to find any entries with the numbers ANYWHERE in the number

Like "*" & [Forms]![Form1].[raNumber] & "*"

Or, if you want to just find any that start with that number:

Like [Forms]![Form1].[raNumber] & "*"
