Hi,

Running this expression in a query:

SeqNum: DCount("[Mineral_Tract_Number]","Query1","[Mineral_Tract_Number] = '" & [Mineral_Tract_Number] & "'")-DCount("[Mineral_Tract_Number]","Query1","[Mineral_Tract_Number] = '" & [Mineral_Tract_Number] & "' AND [MineralOwner_ID] > " & [MineralOwner_ID])
It works Great,

I now want to merge the Mineral_Tract_Number with the SeqNum results.

LID: [Mineral_Tract_Number] & "-" & [SeqNum]

This works but it prompts me for SeqNum when I run the query, if I select "Ok" the query runs exactly the way I want it to.

Trying to figure out why it is asking me for SeqNum and how I can avoid it.

Thanks.

probably because seqnum is not a field, it's a manufactured field. just because it's established earlier in an sql string doesn't mean you can use it later on as a reference. i'm guessing u might have to write the dcount expr in place of it, again
