hi all,

basically i was wondering if anyone could help. I've created a database and have entered in all data. In a memo feild "treatment" on a table the data entry was a few sentences long. I need to find all treatment details with the word "panacur" in it. and was wondering how? i can get the search criteria box up but when panacur is entered a blank table appears, any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks

Assuming table called tblTreatments, with field Treatment...

SELECT
tblTreatments.Treatment

FROM
tblTreatments

WHERE
(((tblTreatments.Treatment) Like "*panacur*"));

HTH :cool:

thanks for that mate , it works but it displays all the treatment results and not just the ones including "panacur" any suggestons? :confused: :confused: :confused:

bengally this is the sql code from what sfreeman@co.mer gave you.
Make a blank query and go to view - sql view. Paste the code below.

If I were to guess it seems to me you're trying to find all panacur records from treatment field in Table treatments.

SELECT [tblTreatments].[Treatment]
FROM [tblTreatments]
WHERE ((([tblTreatments].[Treatment]) Like "panacur*"));

hth,
Michael

bengally, not sure why it is doing that for you.

In my test, it only retrieves the desired records, ones that contain the word 'panacur'.

If 'panacur' is not in the memo filed, the record is not retrieved.
