Query Search Help required

Hi,

I have my Query looking at multiple colums on a single table.

The table has approximately 2000 records.

I would like to create a Query that searches for criteria in one colum only. I have created a Query and providing i search for exactly what is written then it shows results, e.g. when i seach for Horse Furniture then i get many results but if i search for Horse i get no results?

I would like the search to be dynamic, so when the end user runs the query they are presented with a dialog box asking what they wish to search for (this i have no problems with) however i need to know how to get my query to be dynamic and provide results based upon single information.

is this possible and if so then how?

Thank you in advance for your help, i have been banging my head for a while on this one and am getting no where.

Hi,

Just thought i would add a little more info.

I have just been playing with the Like function:

Like [Find records beginning with:] & "*" Or Is Null

This sort of works but the problem that i have with this is that it only displays those records that start witht he search criteria. I would like my results to display all records with my search criteria no matter where it is in the field.

Please help as this is sending me crazy

Hi Guys and Gals,

My determination has solved the problem. the ammount of hours i have spent on this to find that the solution was so simple in the end..

the criteria i needed to use in my query was:

Like "*" & [enter key word] & "*"

This then promped my end user witht eh dialog box in which they enter the words they are looking for.

The above parameter will then search for what the user enters anywhere within thaat colum and display the results, this is exactly what i needed.

For thos who looked at this and were goign to help me i thank you for your time.
