Query to display a message if the record isnt found

Hi

I am fairly new to Access so I am looking for the most easiest answer!

I want to look up a record number and if it isnt there, for it to return a message saying no record found instead of showing the table with (autonumber) and then all fields blank.

Any ideas?

What's loading the query? You might be able to tap into Recordset.RecordCount if it's being loaded by a command button or something similar.

Otherwise, you might use a form in datasheet mode; I'm not sure you can attach events to queries themselves.
