How might I go about taking the values fo certain fields in a previous record and place them in the same fields of the current record, using either a query or VBA?

I've seen something about being able to utilize previous record data but for the life of me I can't remember where I saw it!!

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. However, I'm not using a form..... I'm more interested in how I might go about it by using either a query or VBA. If you have any other ideas, I would love to see them also.

Again, thanks!

This is what I got from access help :

Open a datasheet
Click in the field in which you want to insert the value.
Press CTRL+APOSTROPHE (')

I used this meself and found it handy. The only disadvantage is that it only copies data from the previous record field(s) and not from let's say 5 records back.
I haven't got time to figure out how that can be put into a query or VBA.

If you are not in a form how are you viewing the data to have a 'current' record or do you mean to create a new record with some values copied from a previous record?
