Question regarding linking .mdb file with odbc (1 Viewer)

I have been trying to found out why it isn't allowed to link .mdb file though odbc with another .mdb file. I tried Google an answer but could not find it.

Because it isn't necessary. An MDB file links directly; no ODBC connection required. ODBC is only necessary to connect two different things which cannot communicate directly with each other.
