Really easy question, or so I hope.

I have a database with members information recorded and there are multiple records associated with each member. I have created a report to display the information about each member. The problem is that I want the report to take a new page for each member. I tried changing the properties of the detail section to 'Force new page - after section' however this takes a new page after every record.

Can anyone tell me how to get around this?

Thanks

Put the member information in the detail section and out of the "section" section (for lack of a better way to describe that). You're forcing a new page in the same section that contains your member information, so for each entry, it's forcing a new page. It needs to be in one section removed (the next outer section) of your detail.

I'm not quite sure what you mean!

At the minute in the 'Forename header' section I have the members name and then the headings for the records associated with each member.
Then in the detail section I have the records associated with each member.
What should I change this to?

Thanks

You need the force new page in the Header section, not the detail

When I force a new page in the header section that just gives me the headings and then it takes a new page and lists the records!

Hi

On your report you have several area's:- report Header section, Page header section, detail section, page footer, and report footer.

I'm gurssing the "names" are in the detail section, to do what you want you need to put "names" into the page header.

This will group records by name and by formatting your "page footer" to force a new page you should be able to start a new page based on each persons name.

you may try to do this in the report wizard.

Hope this helps

That's because you've set the force new page to after section, use the Before Section

Super! I knew it was going to be something simple!

Thanks
