What is R01 file type and how can I import it into an Access table?

At my work, I WinSCP to a folder where all these files of R01 file type reside.
I need to import this and then parse the data into respective fields.

Do you know where they came from? Can you open them using Notepad? What do you see?

Google tells me (and could have told you) it's a compressed file. That means you don't import it directly into Access, you extract its contents, then import those--whatever they may be.

I had a feeling it was a series of files like Z01s too.
