Reading parts from imported data

Here's the scenario:
I receive a mail. The mail contains text and maybe some tables, so You can treat the mail as simple .txt document.
What I need to do is somehow (with some VBA function) read the entire .txt document from within the access and import specific stuff from the document.
Can someone tell me what approach would You use to create such function that will read text from the document and determin what is what?

it would help if it was uniformed with a delimiter. if you don't have that, there is no possible way anyone can answer this question. you haven't given enough information, and with this kind of situation anyway, someone would need to look at the entire file to see the structure of it.

anything is possible, but without seeing the format of the txt, noone can advise you.

Ok, thanks for the answer. I don't have the file yet at my possession, I'm just asking in advance here. I will post it when I get it though, in the meantime I'll read about this from books.
