Working on a small database for my brother who owns a roofing company. He has been using Word to track projects using cut and paste. I was a database admin and programmer in the late 90's using Access and SQL. Both our families will be on a cruse in a few weeks and hoping to get some of this finished while on the cruise. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good Access reference book to take along?

The most suitable book will depend on your skill level.
In my opinion the best ever reference books are the two volume set Access 2000 Developers Handbook by Ken Getz and others. There was also a 2002 version but nothing since. Both are available at a reasonable price second-hand. Although very old, they are still invaluable but are certainly not for beginners.

Alternatively if you will have Internet access whilst away, I recommend the free You Tube video tutorials by Steve Bishop. There are over 100 from beginner level through to advanced.
