Remote Connection

I have moved a SQL Server database from a location on a local LAN to a remote server accessible via IP. I'm not sure how to tell the Access .adp front-end how to find the SQL Server back-end in the Connection setup utility. I've tried entering the URL or the IP address, and it accepts neither. Any tips?
