Remote connection

Hello everyone. I have an Access 97 database. The tables are on a server and the forms are split on remote machines. I would like to connect the two together over a cellular modem with an IP address. Someone mentioned through DAO. If so, any help with the connection string would be great. The server needs a username and password to connect.
