Hello Everyone!
I'm new to the forum but I have a question that I'm hoping someone on here will help me with and save me lots of time.

I've taken over the task of compiling a rather large "Contacts" database. The person that previously had been working on it had placed Combo Box's with drop down lists on the main table and that is creating quite a problem. How can I remove these Combo Box's with the list's with out destroying all the work that has been put into making the database?

Thank you for your time and energy!

Can you show us a jpg of your tables and relationships?

When you say dropdowns on the table, do you mean on Forms?
It is hard to visualize what exactly you are describing.

I'm sorry, but no, I cannot show you a jpg of our tables and relationships due to rules and regs. here at the office. However, in an attempt at an easier description, it is basically our version of a roll-a-dex. In that it has all of our contact information and such, for all the businesses and persons that we are associated with. When i speak of the dropdowns on the table I mean just that. It is on the main table and not on any forms, queries, or reports. I have read that dropdown combo boxes should not be placed on the "main table". They should only be used on forms, queries, and reports and that if they are placed on the main table, they cause problems and that's what I'm seeing now. When reports and such are made, there's an abundance of information that is placed on those reports that is not needed nor asked for.

I hope this helps for a better description.

I posted a picture.
Open the table in design view.
Click the column you want to change.
Go to the Lookup tab.
Change the combo back to a text box.
