I am working on a estimating app in excel and at one point put a drop down in one cell. Further development of the work book lead me to change the cell from a lookup with a drop down to a formual where the input for this cell would be inported from another cell in the work book. Thsi has been completed and work just fine. The problem is I still have the drop down arrow at the end of the box. How do I remove the arrow?

Thanks for the suggestion but I still have theis arrow at the end of the cell. Any other ideas??

One further detail that I didn't mention before is that the drop down arrow is present all the time - weather or not the cell is active. I rembered reading somewhere that the arrow on a normal lookup is only vissible when the cell is active.

hmmm, is it possible a filter is being applied? Could you post a sample file?

Try this:

first, copy the formula in that cell elsewhere..

then, right click on the "bad" cell and choose Delete, then choose Shift Cells Up.

Then right, click again and choose Insert, and then Shift Cells Down. and recopy the formula to the cell....

I tried deleting the cell as you sugested and then inserting it back. When I deleted the cell and sifted up the cell that moveinto its place displayed the arrow just like it was before?????

Are you sure that you don't have any macros in the workbook? Is it possible to post the workbook?
