I recently thought it would be good if i had users and passwords set for the database - i am using Access 2000 - so i go ahead and try it out - it works fine, but now i want to remove it and restore it back - since i am asked to enter the password for every database file i open on my system

Can anyone help???.

You didn't apply the security correctly or it wouldn't be asking you for a password on unsecured db's. However if you check out the Access security faqs on Microsoft's site it tells you how to remove it. It also walks you through the correct application of security so you might want to try again before you give up.

Bert,
Sign in as Administrator; go to tools menu; security; users and group accounts; go to "change logon password" tab;

- enter Administrator password
- leave new password blank
- click apply

Sign out and sign back in, the system should bypass the lo-gon
