Question replace input email address with mailto address

I have a form where the user puts in a email address, eg test @ myserver.net

So the link opens a new mail it has to be prefixed by mailto:

How can I automatically replace the address the user enters with the format mailto:test@myserver.net

Anybody help

I think if you store the data in the TABLE as a hyperlink then when you click it it should open up an email in your default mail program?

enter the data as mailto:[EMAIL="me@hotmail.com"]me@hotmail.com[/EMAIL]
or
get user to enter just me@hotmail.com
then
run an update query on the table to add the "mailto:" prefix to each email using criteria left(,6)<>"mailto"

Thank you, you're right, and I had done that, what I missed was the fact that I had imported the data from Excel, and although it looked like a hyperlink it wasn't. I cut and pasted the link into another field and then cut and pasted back and hey presto it is now a mailto link, another lesson learned. Note you are in Hampshire as well, hi
