I have several reports that are generated at points during the day. These reports are generated as rtf files and are sent as email attachments. The attachment is therefore the "report name".rtf. Is there a simple way I can add to the name either a unique number or even just a time stamp?

I have tried to search the forum before posing but dont seem to be able to find similar threads

any help appreciated.

regards:confused:

I will be looking for replies to your question with great interest as I currently have a similar problem.

Don't Know if this is what you want but

DoCmd.SendObject acSendNoObject, , , "Jo Bloggs", , , "Agent Table Update - Undefined Department Name", "DEPARTMENT NAME = " & Me.Department & " SITE NNAME = " & Me.Site & " - PLEASE SPECIFY A REPORT"

Have a look at the attached screen shot to compare fileds in the code with with how it looks on the email

Many thanks for your reply, I think we are at cross purposses. What I need to do is to be able to name the attachment, currently the name will be the report name that is generated into the rtf file. ie Access Report = GateLog
when exported as ane email attachment the attachmnet will be GateLog.rtf

I need to be able to identfy each report attached ie GateLog(date/time stamp).rft = GateLog060320061246.rtf

Any ideas?

Thanks anyway.

Steve

Ok folks I have found the basic code to be able to name the report as below

Option Compare Database

Function delivery_email()

DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputReport, "Trailers Arrival", acFormatRTF, "C:\TEMP\Pre-Alert-" & Format(Now(), "dd-mm-yy-hh-nn-ss" & ".rtf"), acPreview, False

End Function

Any ideas how to now pick the new saved report and send out in my emails ?
