Report printing

I have a report which is used for printing (as labels) 4 up on an A4 sheet
Everything works well with up to 20 different records printing on 5 sheets.
My problem is that on both preview and the actual printed sheets there is a grey tone on the right hand two labels of each printed sheet. There is nothing visible in either design view or Layout view. The grey covers the whole of the designated column width and height, but only on the right hand columns.
How can I get rid of this?

AccessBlaster, Thanks for your advice, but it did not reveal anything. I followed it up by eliminating each of the various fields and labels on the report in turn. None was connected to the grey area.
I found that I had not quite described the problem accurately. On multiple page outputs it is the right hand column of the first sheet that is grey, but it is the left column of all subsequent sheets.
