report question

I have a report that is attached to a query. I have a textbox in the report that does a dlookup.
My question is for doing dlookup, does it do a query?

Dlookup returns only the first instance of the specified criteria. So if 2 or more exist, only the first is returned. However, a query would show you all records that meet the specified criteria.
