Reports are "frozen" in Access

An Access database I use about twice a month has developed a problem.

I am unable to open reports in any mode - design, layout, preview, etc. When I select one of these the screen flickers and nothing else happens. No error message.

All the forms and queries work just fine (including the queries used in reports).

And everything worked just fine last week.

I'm running Access 2007 under Windows 7. Apart from any MS updates, nothing has changed on the computer.

Any help with this will be much appreciated.

Check that you have a default printer installed - no printer = no reports

Many thanks for the suggestion Steve. Printing is working fine from the other Office products.

I have also discovered that reports are not available or creatable in my other databases either. Nor are they in a template downloaded from MS.

I can't find any place within Access 2007 to set up printers. Is there on?
