Reseeding a PK and merging tables

I have 2 identical databases with different data. The newer of the 2 databases was just for temporary use but we've decided to continue with the data that is in it. I would like to reseed the smaller of the databases starting with the last PK (autonumber) of the larger database and then append the data into the larger database. There are 3 tables affected. The first table holds the PK and has 2 related tables that have referential integrity with Cascading updates. I've attempted to use the code in this thread http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=45181 but continously get an error saying user-defined type not defined at Dim cnn As ADODB.Connection. I've checked for reference to ADO and DAO, rearranged priority, etc but have yet to get this to work for me.
