Hello
I am trying to resize my form in Access 2007 to make is smaller rather full screen.. I searched in this forum and other reference in how to do so. But all of the tips say set Auto Resize to NO then adjust the size through the property.
I have set my property Auto Resize to “NO” ..My question how to set the value of form size Width and Height..I can only see Width on the property ..!! Can I ask where I can find the height..
Also why when I go to Menu>Arrange>Anchoring is disabled.
Thank you

dody,

your english here makes it impossible to understand what you want.

autoresize does nothing more than take your form dimensions and size them according to the screen size it is dealing with (either that or the resolution. not sure which!)

there really should never be a need to resize a form manually. microsoft already covered the issue with the built in functions

Thank you very much. You are absolutely right I could not understand myself when I read it again LOL.. However I just edited my post to make more sense.. hope it is clear now.

Each section of your form have their own Height properties. So the Form Header section, the Detail section and the Form Footer section have their own. You would have to manipulate those heights to get what you desire. Since the width doesn't vary between sections, the Form itself holds the Width property.

Thank you for your information you make it clear for me. But why when viewing the forum still I see full screen.?
I have sample DB created in Access 2003 (Attached Image) when you click view you see form size you set and when you click also design mode you see also form size you set.
Why I cannot do it in Access 2007 !? Do I need to do anything on the settings?

Thank you

Scroll DOWN using the scroll bar on the right and you will see where the grey area of your form stops. Move that up to the desired position.

Do the same when you scroll to the right.

I am sorry for the hassle I am giving here, but I did not get it .. I am sure I have something wrong with my settings that prevent me from doing this right. I am attaching a screen capture of what happening in my design and view mode.
Thank you

Dody,

Access 2007 comes defaulted to display all forms as "Tabbed Documents" which causes them to appear as full screen, even in design mode.

Try this:
Click on the "Office Button" (the round button at the upper left of the Access 2007 window). Then click on the "Access Options" button at the lower right of that window. In the "Access Options" dialog box, click on the "Current Database" option on the left side. Look for the "Document Window options" and click to select the "Overlapping Windows" option.

I think this is your issue.

Excellent that’s it..Work perfectly …Thank you so much:)

I think Dody may also be referring to a Pop-Up form. As Mr. B has already pointed out, Access 2007 groups each form in tabs and hence, when in design view you can't have it resized. If it's the pop-up you're talking about then go to the Properties sheet of your form and click on the "Other" tab, then change the "Pop-Up" property to Yes. Your form will no longer be grouped in the tab when opened in Form View.
