Return one record for each name for a Mail Merge

I'm not exactly sure how to explain this...

We have a query at the firm that returns data on attorneys that we have referred cases to but have not gotten a response. There might be 8 cases to one attorney, 2 sent to another, and so on. I want to be able to run a Mail Merge in Word and only pull up one letter to each attorney that appears in the query. I was told by someone this is a Max function? I can't imagine that this is very difficult. Could someone please help me out?

In your current query click on the Totals icon on the menu bar (The sigma symbol for funny looking E). You may need to remove fields to get the data that you want or you may need to do it using two queries.
