I just had to post this, I tried but couldn't resist. Chuck Norris instilled such morality and ethics into his works, especially "Walker, Texas Ranger" that it ACTUALLY left a lasting impression on me - I hesitate to say that of a 'movie star', but it's true - He actually influenced my life, such was the extent of it.

Never have had as much respect for any one in show business as I had for Chuck Norris. He had what it took, and showed what it takes, to be a real man - the humility, honesty, courage and sense of right over wrong.

Sometimes you need to see something with a deep, philosophical tone, like Shakespeare's Henry V or The Tempest. Sometimes you need to watch a serious drama such as Gone With the Wind or Ben Hur. Sometimes you need to watch the purity of sports competition such as the Olympics with Gymnastics or Ice Dancing.

Then there are times when the goal is to vegetate on the couch, watch a mindless action movie or TV series, and scarf down some popcorn. Chuck Norris had the latter category locked up. Whether we are talking Walker, Texas Ranger or the movies Hero and the Terror or The Delta Force, or his appearances as an antagonist with Bruce Lee, you could depend on Chuck for prime popcorn time.

So his acting wasn't up for an Academy Award. But he was a predictable actor who hit his marks, read his lines credibly, and was a good box-office draw in quite a few movies. You know, that's not a bad career summary for an actor.

R.I.P. Chuck, we'll miss you. But you won't have to kick down the Pearly Gates. They'll see you coming and invite you in, I think.
