Please can someone help!!

I need to rotate a text box (not label) by 90 degrees. So that company names from my table can fit on one report.

Hope this makes sense!!

Boy, I don't think that is an option in native Access. There might be an add-on made by a third party, but I don't know, I'll check some places I know.

I, too, would be interested in this capability.

Thanx, that would be great help if you can find something!!

Another possibilty:

If you make the text box very narrow and tall, then use a fixed-width font like courier, you get:

M
Y

T
E
X
T

So then you could get hold of a font creation program (say FCP from http://www.high-logic.com ), make <ahem> a 'copy' of the Courier font, but in your copy, rotate all of the characters 90 degrees to the right, then in the stacked text box above, it would read from top to bottom (tilting your head to the right). It would mean that you have to distribute your font with the application, but that's not a problem.

If you want the text box to read from bottom to top (tilting your head to the left), you could make a font rotated to the left by 90 degrees, but you would have to populate the text box with a reversed string; I just happen to have a custom function that reverses strings, here it is:

Public Function reverse(YourString As String)
Dim MyLoop As Integer
For MyLoop = Len(YourString) To 1 Step -1
reverse = reverse & Mid(YourString, MyLoop, 1)
Next MyLoop
End Function

Let me know if you need any help on using this.

Mike

Thanxs for the tip but I need the text to be rotated 90 degrees not so the users are reading it like:

M
Y

T
E
X
T

Do you get what I mean??

Christy

Yes!

that's why I suggested creating a font with all of the characters rotated by 90 degrees!

Mike

Opppss sorry thanxs again!!!!!!!!!

I do have another problem for you to solve!!!

I have a report based on a table. I need 1 text box to relate to a sum on another report but it doesn't seem to work, this is the control source:

=[rPanelAudit]![NoofAudits]

It is suppose to return the Number of cases sent to a firm but it DOESNT WORK!! What AM I doing wrong?????

Probably the easiest method would be to create a tiny little report that just shows the total you want and insert it as a subreport.

What version of Access are you using?
Access2000 has this as a NEW feature (Verical display).

If you are using Access97 then I have an Active X control called 'Rotate Label' that I could mail to you.

BUT, first of all I want to know why you want to print out Company names in such anunothodox manner. Is it a CrossTab Report?

Thanxs Mike, I shall try that!!

Kevin, I am using 97, Not a crosstab report. It is a layout that our client specified for the report so I am trying abide by their requests!!

Hi Mike!

As far as I can see, you quite familiar with Access, so you might know an answer on my question. I’m trying to rotate a Text Box in a Report on 45 degrees. Any ideas on that?

Mahmudich
