Running Access 2003 on Vista

Hi everyone! I am currently using Access 2003 on Vista and I read somewhere
in the forum that you have to configure the executable msaccess.exe tu run as administrator on Vista for it to properly work.
Could someone kindly explain me why this has to be done and what happens
otherwise, i.e., what kind of problems can arise?
I have a single mdb file which is not shared over a network nor password protected ...

The reason is that Access creates and deletes the locking file (ldb) and if it doesn't run as Admin, it doesn't have permissions to create, and edit, that file. ALSO, if you don't set it to run as Admin you will not be allowed by Windows to run any macros or VBA code in your Access database.

Thank you for your reply. Actually, I tried unchecking the "Run Ad Administrator"
on the executable file and it opens smoothly, while I still can execute any VBA code and also shelling out .... I am the only configured user on my computer and I have an administrator profile.

More ... I posted this question because if I check the "Run As Administrator" box on the msaccess.exe executable file, then each time I double click an mdb file to open it, it opens but I also get a warning popup telling me that Access was unable to open file blablabla.mdb ... If I launch Access alone and open the
mdb file from inside Access, the annoying popup does not appear!! Soooo weird!
