You all probably know about the large size of the Access runtime files 2000 (minimized version: 70 mb)

Is it possible to add the runtime files of MS Access 97 to my MS Access 2000 application?

Since runtime 97 is much smaller, this would be nice for the distribution of my database.

Thanks. Stefan

The A97 runtime cannot run an A2K database.

Thanks Pat

Would it be possible if I convert my A2K database to A97 and then add the A97 runtime with the Package & Deployment Wizard?

Regards, Stefan

There are two versions of the A2K runtime. One version includes Internet Explorer and one does not. If you search the Microsoft knowledge base, you'll find an article that tells you how to get the smaller version.

You could convert back to A97 as long as you haven't used any functionality that was not available in that version.

Hello

Do you think it would be worth buying the A97 developer version as well even if I have already A2K. The only reason would be the smaller Access runtime file.

Stefan
