Hiya,

I'm trying to export some data to excel.

I have a 'subquery' which is joining 2 tables with about 6/7 fields each then 'union all' to a different 2 joined tables with about 6/7 fields each as well.

This 'subquery' is then used in a crosstab query which is joined with 1 other table (with 5 fields) to pick up names.
The crosstab query output is 56 columns & 4440 rows.

If I open this in access, it's fine. When exporting it to excel, which is it's purpose (source for an excel report), I get the above error.

What are the limitations on exporting to excel -from what I can find, it seems to be 255 columns which I'm nowhere near.....

Is there something I need to set/define?

Thanks

PS I'm using access 2003, the database is 2000 & I have excel 2007 (though the spreadsheet involved is 97-2003).
Crazy, but it's this way as the end users all have different versions of microsoft......
