Hi,

When I try to use the TransferSpreadsheet command, I get the following runtime error (3051):

"Microsoft Access database engine cannot open or write to “XXXX”. It is already open or exclusively used by another or you need permission to view or write its data."

I've used this in practically every database I've ever created and I've never gotten this error. I tried the following to resolve this:
  • Repair and compact
  • Made a copy of the problem dB, deleted original, repaired and compacted the copy
  • Went to directories where both dB and Excel files are stored and under 'General'\'Properties' and ensured that 'Read Only' was UNCHECKED
Nothing fixed the problem. Can anyone assist with this? I attached a copy of the database that contains the module with code. Thanks in advance.

I note this question is marked SOLVED. Just making sure that it was marked solved intensionally?

have you tried closing all instance of excel. if there are left over in task manager you may need to kill the process also.
