Hello Access World
Silly problem this time hope you can help. Doing a small DB for a patient waiting list, have two tables with a one to many relationship. One table's got patient details the others got addresses, each patient can have more than one address, ie patients own address or family. In the Address table on field is called address type, what I need to do is if they pick address type patients own then automatically put patients name in the name field thats in the name field in the Details table.

If anyone can understand this can you help because it would help
lots of over worked clinical staff with data entry.

Thanks in advance
Tilda

Hi Pat
Thank you but I’m still not sure if its what we need, this maybe a bit rambling so I apologise in advance, the trouble is that sometimes the address will be the patients and sometimes a relative of the patient, so I need the patients name in the patient details but also the name of the person who’s address it is (we can have several addresses for each patient) and the relationship to the patient, so I thought if we could just pick the relationship type i.e. Daughter, Son, or Patient’s own from a list and if we picked Patients own it could fill in the name from the other table it would save tons of work and be a lot more accurate!

Or is this what your trying to tell me and I’m just not getting, if so I’ll give it a go. But thank you for the help anyway we need all we can get.
