Ok, i have been trying to get help with no success, I deleted the orignal post incase I didn't explain it right, ok i'm going to try to get help with the first section. i have a table that has 5000 rows, it consists of serial number (not primary) at the end of the table i created a colum for check mark. how do i write a record set to add a check mark to all the rows that have the same serial number. Thanks. i'm going bald soon..

UPDATE tblSN SET tblSN.CheckBoxField=-1
WHERE (tblSN.SerialNumber in(Select SerialNumber FROM tblSN GROUP BY SerialNumber Having(Count(SerialNumber0=2))));
Was not sure of your actual field names but the above should do the trick when you add your field names.
