Saving Form Calculations

Hi

I have a form where users fill in some date fields and some cost fields.

I have added some calculations which makes life easier for them:

EG. Cost plus VAT.

I would like to save these calculated fields back to the tables.

I am aware that this is not great database design but it is a requirement. Can someone help me with this?

There is no need to store calculated values in the tables. Users should never never see your tables. They should only see Forms/reports. You can easily calculate these values when you need them. If you put the calculations in the query source for your form/report the values will be there when you need them.

Thanks for your reply.

The reason I need to do this is because some of the fields are calculated at different rates for different times of the year.

Also a couple of the users will still need access to the tables as they will develop on it from time to time.

All I need is the terminology for saving one field back into the table.
