Hi,

I am trying to capture some of my forms for the user guide to my database, when using the screen capture it captures the whole screen where as I just want to capture the form in use.

I'm not sure if there is anyway round this, I'm using XP pro and access 2000. I could go into paint and just cut out the screen but i'd rather not. I'm guessing it might just be how my laptop / xp is setup.

If anyone knows any way around this it would be much appricated.

Cheers

Andy

This can be a pain. The way I do it is to use Powerpoint.

Use Alt + Print Screen to capture the screen and then paste into powerpoint. use the picture toolbar to chop it about and then paste it into Word or whatever I am using for the guide.

Alt chop it about save as a jpeg if I am using HTML. can then call it as required.

I use a product called Snagit. It costs around $25 and is pretty good. I've been using it for at least 5 years. There are also shareware and freeware products.

Try Irfanview here

It is freeware and you can capture the screen by a hotkey (f11) or by timer and it will capture the whole screen or the foreground(current window)

Irfanview is one of the best freeware graphics programs on the web. One of the few things it does not do is allow you to select a section of your screen to make a screen shot of your selection. I have been using MWSnap to do just that. You can find it and more in the Screen Capture Tools - Freeware section of NoNags

Ghudson,

That is an excellent utility for capture. Thanks for that.

Always used Irfanview and other image editors.

Thanks
