Search Button Save blank Table Entry

I used the macro version through the wizard to create the search button. When it brings up a record all is good but if no infromation is entered and a different record is selected a reference record using the search criteria (ie, "inspection number") is left in the coorepsonding table. The record is otherwise completely blank.

Why is this and how can I make sure a record is not saved? I have a save button on the form.

Sounds like you have the selection control bound to a field when its control source should not have anything in it.
