I'm new to all this and I've got a really stupid (i guess) and simple question.

I need to be able to enter reference number on a form that will then display that persons name etc and then offer the opportunity to add other details on a sub form regarding their attendance on courses.

What is happening is that when I enter the ref number I get the appropriate course history for that person on the sub form but their name etc does not correspond to the ref number. When I then hit return I end up saving the the wrong name etc to the current ref number. Help Please

thanks reefman

It sounds like you need a good search form, like the one in this post: Filter or setting the RecordSource It's far more complicated than you need, I'm sure, but you can take some of the ideas from it.

Also, the problem with saving the ref number to the wrong record probably stems from not structuring the search properly. It sounds like you're using a "bound" control (i.e., the control has an entry in it's controlsource properly).

Thanks but I want that I can choose company name and then can add dividends information into it.

As I change company then relevant information should be there in dividends.

Can I not achieve this way?
