Hi everyone,

I am fairly new to Access and am having some trouble creating a search form. I have numerous tables, which contain information regarding clients and contracts, that are all connected by relationships. I would like to create a form in which I can type in the name of the client and pull up all the information regarding it from the various tables (i.e. when it was signed, the amount, and etc). I'm not sure exactly how to go about doing this or even if this is possible!

Any help would be much appreciated!!

without knowing more about your tables and relationships I can only give a general suggestion so in brief, create a mainform in single form view with your customer table as the recordsource

then for each other table which contains customer information, create a subform which will typically be in either datasheet of continuous form view. Ensure you complete the linkchild and linkmaster properties for each subform control - if your db is normalised and you have set all the relationships then these should be populated automatically.

Finally on your mainform, create an unbound combo box with a rowsource of your customerid and name and in the after update event for this control put the following code

me.filter="customerid=" & me.combo
me.filteron=true

change names to suit your actual field and control names

I'm sorry but I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "mainform", "subform", "linkchild", and "linkmaster." I have a limited knowledge of Access lingo, would you mind simplifying a little more? Again, I really appreciate the help!
