Hi All,

I am currently working on a project for uni at which I have a database which I need to create a form for. Basically I need to have a search bar at the top of the form by which you can search by company name. I want a box below that which displays that companies name and address once it typed into the search bar. For example you type in NEXT in the search bar and then below it the NEXT head office address is displayed in the box below that. Below the box which will display the address, I need to have another box which displays all employees who are linked to that account. I then want to be able to click each persons name and a sub form to pop up detailing their name, job title, product interests etc. Could someone please help me? I would greatly appreciate it, and it would help me learn more about Access.

All this is possible to do in Access.

You never stated what you need help with. Do you have a specific question about how to do something that you tried but just can't figure out?

Hi,

Great news that its possible. Is there any chance of you creating some form of a template with some dummy data. I have a two tables of data but its confidential so I obviously cant give it away for anyone to see. Basically my problem is that i want to search by account number. in the box below i want the company name and address of that account number to appear. for example if i type in 345678 and it belongs to tbs ltd i want their address to come up. In a box below id like all the people related to that account to appear in another box below. they all have the same account number but are different records. I want to be able to click them each individual persons name and have their name, job title, email etc to come up in a sub form. Could you please either do a dummy template for me or explain to be how i do it. If its any help the table with the company account number is called customers and the one withe the people in is called master.

e.g search for tbs ltd

result =
tbs ltd
36 t road
Nottingham
N11 p9U

People =
Tom Crepe
Jack Bean
Eric Crow

Please help me out if you can as its quite an urgent task.

many thanks,

would it be useful if i sent you a blank database that has no data in it?? Just a database with the master and customer tables in it. If not, in the customer table its just company name, account number, address, postcode, phone. the customer details in the master table are name, address, phone, job title, product interests of which there needs to be 6 tick boxes. is this any use? If not would you be able to whirl up a dummy db of the above info? please help me HITECH

Thanks, Its really useful, however i am an access beginner. so am not very confident with this level of complexity. Is there any chance you could create a dummy table with the details as above for me to work from ni my master one please?

Basically my 2 tables are customer which is basically company account numbers, company name, address, phone etc.
Then i have master table which has all individual people related to each company. So comp1 has one entry in customer but 15 people in master. I want to search for 23456 account number, then below the comapny name and address appears. below that there is a list of people related to that account at which point when i click each one, their details come up such as name, job title product interests (7 tick boxes). Any chance of a template? Id greatly appreciate it.
