Searching

I've got a form that displays all of a customers details, however i wanna be able to search the customers. I have implemented (sort of) a search feature, so you type in the surname, click search, it looks up a query and then u select the result you want and it displays. however, i cant get the query to work properly, on the row source of the form that displays the results, it keeps asking me for the ID rather than taking the surname in the text box

I've attached the file, as it myt be a lil easier to see what i mean

i'm guessing its either to do with the coding or more likely what its trying to look up in the query.

Hi mate, you dont need a query to do this. You can do it with a bit of VBA!
I've added a couple of names in your table and added some code behind the search button. Type in a persons surname in search and press enter, and it should return the persons record.
