Hi,

I have the above security settings in place for the account shown, this user should only be able to Read the Database, how is it possible that they are able to edit the database?

Any security suggestions will be appreciated

Regards

Your link didn't make it so I can't see your settings.

Remember that if you don't do all of the right steps to secure a database - including things you must do to the Admin account - then a user can come in through the Admin account simply by refusing to join the correct workgroup.

Search this forum for how to properly secure a database. Search topics should include "Workgroup Security" and "Securing a database"

yep

the users rights are the cumulative boolean or's of all the rights for all his groups

you need to take into account the standard user and admin user accounts, and the admins group

Thanks for that Guy and Gal

(I dnt know why the link didnt work, cos i can see the image that it should show *shrugs*)
