I was able to find on the internet the tools to crack the database password and ULS security of MS Access. and it says all versions.

On the other hand, I have also read that MS Access 2007 version database password is more like SQL in terms of security because it has an improved encryption.

Last night, I tried ms access 2007 and it has no ULS but it has the same database security option like the previous version. but still I was able to crack the password thru the tool I have downloaded from the internet.

it seems that in terms of security in access, it is next to useless ?!?!?!

What is the tool you used and what kind of security did you break because there are several levels.

With a tool like LC4 (brute force) you can break any kind of password. It takes a while though.

*edit* On the other hand, don't give me the name. Just the level of security *edit*

it is not LC4 (bruteforce).. its another type of tool. it can break thru database password and User Level Security ( I suppose all its level because all passwords have been displayed.

As indicated earlier, ULS are more useful as "permission management" in corralling the users to do a certain action in a certain sequence rather than actually protecting the data. If you do have sensitive data, use a backend RDBMS for that job.

Beyond that, it becomes a human resources issues because if your company can't trust their own employees then they have much more bigger problem.
