Serch function help

Search function help

Hi

I am a newbie to access and this web forum. I have used a search form that was posted on this forum but for some reason when adapted into my database it does not behave in quite the same way. When using the search feature and typing something in that is listed in the database all
works ok.

The problem happens when a search is entered which is not in the table.

On the original form i copied it from you go back to the main form showing all records again as normal.

On mine the main DOE form becomes kind of greyed out and all the form contents disappears.

How do i get this form to come back? i have checked all the coding and it all looks fine.

Please help if you can.

search2.zip is the original i base my db on.
searchHelp.zip has the db with the problem in it. best to use the name field for searching as it has most data in it.

From what I played with, the sample you have will return with a blank also.

And then you cannot do anything, except return to all entries.

The sample just doesn't blank out visually.

I would try to limit my search to a specific field or find a different search sample.
