Serious Problem!

I had a great table 'comp master' which contained almost a thousand records. I used this table to query another table 'query2'. While in query2 I sorted data and deleted a particular company 400+ employees because I didn't need that particular co in the report. When I went back to comp master to work on it... those records were deleted from there also! I didn't want that to happen, is there anything I can do?!?!
