Let's say I have Access 2007 file db1.mdb. When I start db1.mdb, I would like form MasterForm to open up and be visible, essentially acting as a starting point for the application.

Is there a setting for this? Do I need to add VB code? If so, where?

These forums have been invaluable in the past, but this one has me stumped. Perhaps I'm using the wrong search terms.

Thanks so much. I knew it had to be simple and it was driving me insane that I couldn't find the answer!

You're welcome. You can also use an AutoExec macro to open the first form.

RG, i have been trying to open the link that you sugest but appears a page that reports the site currently unavailable, can i get this information somewhere else?
Thanks
Jose

I don't know what the link shows but in A2010, you would go to File/Access Options and on the current database tab, select the form you wanted to open when the database opened. The options are in different places with different versions. In A2007, you press the big Office button and the Access options are at the bottom of the popup in tiny print. In earlier versions, there is a Tools menu.
Hi Pat. Long time no see. I hope all is well these days.

In Access 2007 I have set the Display form to my frmSplashScreen. It worked for a while but then I changed the timer event from 7 seconds to 10 and now the form won't even open in design view.

I've redone the form thinking it was corrupt. When I try to delete the form it says I cannot because it is open but yet I cannot get to it to close it. I have redone the form using autoexec to open it, same issue. Any thoughts on why this is happening?:banghead:

Try creating a new db and *import* everything from your original db. It sounds like that splash form is corrupt. If it is then it will not import.

Thanks RG, I imported the db as you suggested. The splashform imported as well but at least it works now.

Great! Importing tends to leave curruption behind so it often fixes weird problems and only take a few seconds. Thanks for posting back with your success.
