I would like to set up a timer to 'go fetch' ebay/amazon orders every 15 mins or so ...I think the thing to press into play here is a form with an interval timer? (the 'go fetch' aspect I've already coded - it's just triggering it now that I need)

here's the thing I only want Access to 'go fetch' when I'm not doing something else within Access. There seems to be a plethora of options wrt forms (I'm still pretty new to forms)...I'm guessing it'll be something to do with the got focus to limit when it kicks in?

Many thanks....plenty there for me to get my teeth into!

Pesky,

Sounds to me that you might want to research the windows Task Scheduler--- to run a program at specific times.

I usually have the AutoExec Macro run a Hidden Form that remains open while the ap is running. I use it for housekeeping, persistent connection to the back end, and cleanup when the db closes as it is the last Form to close. It has a Timer Event that looks for messages and non use so the ap can close. Just my $0.02. :D
