Hi,

I have a main form with a number of sub forms. In one subform I have a number of fields which display data on what day study sessions are on, i.e. Study Session 1, 2, 3 etc

I then have on another subform a number of fields which show the hand in dates for assignments.

I want to be able to show in [CaseStudyHandInDate] the same date as [StudySession2].

I've looked at A2K help and that suggested doing a Set Value Macro - but this didn't work.

I know it's probably the simplest thing in the world, and I'm sure I've done it myself in the past - but my brain just isn't functioning as it's friday afternoon....

Any help is much appreciated.

Cheers!! :D

Would a 'Dlookup' function do the job?

Try

me.Parent.ControlName.value

in the default value of the subform text box.
replace 'ControlName' with the text box name which uses the date.

Cheers Guys - but still confused......

Wizcow,

I don't think DLookup would work, unless I am mistaken - don't you usually use this when you want to specify a criteria to look up?

I just want to show the value in the field at all times.....bit like a duplicate of the field - but as they are in different tables I can't do that...

EverBlue,

I've tried your suggestion but it doesn't bring back anything....The field I'm trying to 'duplicate' or 'lookup' is in another subform - would this be causing the problem as it's from one subform to another subform?

Mesci,

If you want to show in [CaseStudyHandInDate] the same date as [StudySession2] then under properties, default value of [CaseStudyHandInDate] put in =[Forms]![formwithstudysession2field]![StudySession2]...

This should work :-)

Cheers Sebby!!

Tha worked fantastic - thanks a lot!!!! :D
