Am new to this forum so not sure is this is the right place to post my question. basically been given a task to complete but not sure how to do it. i'm sure its simple for Advanced users but not for me!! Havent been given teh data yet but below is the question...

Background: You will be presented with a subset of Subscribers from a Database. The fields you will be give are:

Creation Date,Unique Key,DIY Key,Title, Initials, Surname, Suffix, Addr1-5, Postcode, Start date, End Date, Despatch, Phone No1, Phone No3, Amount Paid, Date Paid, Payment Method, No Mail, Loyal, Email-Home, Email work
Mobile

Not all fields will be fully populated. For the sake of this exercise you may interpret the data as you wish provided you detail your assumptions in a report at the end.

You will be provided with two files. Live_Subs1 and Live_Subs2

Task

1) take both Files into Access
2) De-duplicate files so that there is one unique record for each person. How many duplicates were there?
3) How many people pay by Direct Debit and have a valid email address?
4) Of the non DD people (how many are there), what is the average tenure (End Date – Start Date)?
5) Create a cross tab of payment method by revenue.

Would anyone be able to assist me in answering this. I've be very grateful is so.
Thanks!:)

To me, your request reads like you want to get someone to do your homework assignment for you.:(

If you haven't a clue as to how to do anything on the assignment list, you should maybe start by reading the basics of Access which are available in the Help file in the program itself.

:) On the other hand, if there are specific tasks or areas where you are stuck, it would be good if you specify what you're having trouble with, what you've tried which doesn't work and then see if others can give you some clues.

You should also *not* double post your issue. Since you are the original poster, when you edit you are given the option of deleting the thread. I would suggest doing so and we'll keep all of the responses in the General category.
