Not for me. Well I am stuck (farly new) on how to make a combo box with files that when clicked on will open up. This will save some room on my page too. Thank you..

Setup your form's recordsource to be a parameter query. Set your criteria in the primary key to pull the data from the combo box.

Is the combobox on the same form? If so, you can set the form to requery on after update of the combo box.

Will this work for say a document file in my computer?

Oh, I guess I didn't catch that in your first message. I've never actually tried using a combobox to open files. But I don't see why it wouldn't work. If you setup a table for this combobox with a field set to hyperlink then I bet it would work. Give it a shot. Let me know how it works. I'm not sure if selecting a hyperlink from the list would automatically open the file. It might be a two-step process of selecting the link and then clicking on it.

For a combo box, you can declare a CHANGE event that is fired off when the contents of the box change.

You could look at the file name in the box, decide what its application is, and try to open the application with that filename in the event code.

But I think I agree with Rob.Mills about having to do a little more than just select the name in order to open it.

You were right. I created a table with a hyperlink column. Click on files listed in my combo box and click again to open file. Thanks for all your help...
